Position Overview

As a key player in our engineering team, you will focus on the management of solid waste within various sectors, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and regulations.

Key Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from a recognized institution. Advanced degrees such as a Master's or PhD are considered advantageous.
  • Must be registered or eligible for registration as a professional engineer with APEGA.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in solid waste management, particularly in industrial and municipal landfill operations, as well as transfer stations and waste diversion strategies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable government and industry regulations, standards, guidelines, and specifications relevant to solid waste management.
  • Experience in facilitating the approval processes for regulatory and environmental compliance concerning solid waste facilities.
  • Practical field experience is essential.
  • Familiarity with landfill gas management systems, evapotranspiration techniques, biocaps, and greenhouse gas quantification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of contaminated site management is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software is desirable.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within western Canada are required.
