Job Summary

Associated Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Solid Waste Management Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our environmental team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on solid waste management projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement solid waste management strategies and plans for industrial and municipal landfills, transfer stations, and waste diversion facilities.
  • Apply government and industry regulations, standards, guidelines, design, and specifications in the solid waste environment.
  • Facilitate regulatory and environmental approvals for solid waste facilities.
  • Conduct field inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on solid waste management issues.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a professional engineer with APEGA.
  • 5+ years of experience in solid waste management, with a focus on industrial and municipal landfills, transfer stations, and waste diversion.
  • Proven track record of applying government and industry regulations, standards, guidelines, design, and specifications in the solid waste environment.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within western Canada.
