About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Cashier to join our team at G. Central Market Inc. as a key member of our retail store operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Authorize Payments: Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer payments by cheque.
  • Order Merchandise: Coordinate with suppliers to receive and stock merchandise in a timely manner.
  • Authorize Returns: Process returns and exchanges in accordance with company policies.
  • Sell Merchandise: Provide excellent customer service and promote sales of merchandise.
  • Prepare Reports: Compile and analyze sales data, merchandising information, and personnel matters to inform business decisions.
  • Resolve Issues: Address customer complaints, supply shortages, and other issues that may arise.
  • Organize Inventory: Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records and ensure efficient stock management.
  • Supervise Cashiers: Lead and motivate a team of cashiers to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
  • Manage Cash: Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure accurate and secure handling of cash transactions.
Requirements
  • Secondary Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail environment.
  • Work Setting: Urban area, retail business, supermarket/grocery store.
  • Transportation: Own transportation or public transportation available.
  • Work Conditions: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, organized, reliability, team player, dependability, initiative, judgement, ability to multitask.
