Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Road Maintenance Technician to join our Infrastructure Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our road infrastructure assets, ensuring they are safe and functional for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on roadways, bridges, and other infrastructure assets.
  • Operate heavy equipment and vehicles to transport crew and equipment to work sites.
  • Set up and remove traffic control devices, including cones, message boards, and temporary signage.
  • Repair and maintain bridge structures, including railings, expansion joints, and painting.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repair of roadway catch basins, sumps, and pumps.
  • Transport crew and equipment to work sites, operating large trucks and specialized motor vehicles.
  • Perform litter and debris removal and disposal, including ice and snow removal using snow removal and/or sanding equipment.
  • Repair and maintain slopes, berms, culverts, drains, and other infrastructure assets.
  • Control vegetation appearance and growth using lawn mowing equipment, hand or power trimmers, and chemical sprayers.
  • Maintain the appearance and functionality of signs, guardrails, fences, and lighting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of work experience in infrastructure maintenance and repair preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
  • Class DZ/AZ driver's license and OTM Book 7 highly desirable.
Work Environment

The employee is regularly exposed to traffic and outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fume or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be more than moderate at times.

The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk on a wide range of surfaces, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Use manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment. Vision abilities include both close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to pass fit test for respirator as required. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
