goeasy is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Finance Operations Senior Manager to contribute to our success story. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will be part of a team responsible for comprehensive accounting processes, financial statement preparation, and insightful analysis. This role will involve collaboration with operations across North America, providing essential support to senior management and store leaders on financial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of finance professionals in overseeing general ledger accounting activities, ensuring timely and precise consolidated and subsidiary reporting.
  • Mentor and develop team members by offering constructive feedback, fostering strong relationships, and setting clear goals and expectations.
  • Drive the month-end closing process to guarantee timely and accurate completion of internal consolidated financial statements.
  • Manage monthly balance sheet reporting and variance analysis to uphold the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
  • Develop and review risk Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring a robust understanding of audit and accounting controls for compliance.
  • Provide interpretations of IFRS to guide the team in conducting thorough analyses and documenting accounting decisions clearly for management and external auditors.
  • Stay informed on new accounting standards and regulations, ensuring compliance and adapting processes as necessary.
  • Maintain a strong internal controls environment to ensure prudent management of financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, ensuring timely provision of support and information for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Engage in effective communication with finance personnel, department managers, auditors, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Assist with various projects and initiatives aimed at process improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, or a related business discipline, along with a CPA/CA designation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS).
  • Over 7 years of progressive experience in financial reporting leadership within a high-growth, public company or accounting firm.
  • Proven track record as a trusted advisor to the leadership team.
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
