goeasy is looking for a dynamic and driven Senior Manager, Finance & Accounting eager to contribute to a remarkable Canadian success story. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for complete cycle accounting, financial statement preparation, and analysis. This role will involve collaboration with operations across North America and will play a vital role in supporting senior management and store managers with financial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of finance professionals overseeing general ledger accounting activities, ensuring timely and precise consolidated and subsidiary reporting.
  • Mentor and develop team members by providing constructive feedback on assignments, maintaining regular communication, fostering strong personal and professional relationships, and establishing goals and expectations.
  • Proactively manage the month-end close process to guarantee timely and accurate completion of internal consolidated financial statements, including those of the Company's subsidiaries.
  • Oversee monthly balance sheet reporting and variance analysis to ensure financial statement accuracy and completeness, including cumulative translation adjustment reconciliation.
  • Develop, maintain, and review risk KPIs, demonstrating a thorough understanding of audit and accounting controls for compliance.
  • Provide IFRS interpretations and guidance to assist the team in conducting appropriate analysis and documenting accounting determinations clearly and comprehensively for management and external auditors.
  • Stay informed on new accounting standards and regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant and proactively adjusting processes as needed.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and uphold a robust internal controls environment in a rapidly growing business to ensure prudent management of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, ensuring timely support and information requests for quarterly reviews and annual financial audits.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with finance personnel, department managers, auditors, accounting consultants, and other stakeholders as necessary.
  • Assist with additional projects and process improvement initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, or a related business discipline with a CPA/CA designation.
  • Strong technical accounting expertise (IFRS).
  • 7+ years of progressive financial reporting leadership experience in a high-growth, public company with international operations, or from an accounting firm.
  • Proven business partner and trusted advisor to the leadership team.
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
