goeasy is in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic Senior Manager, Finance & Accounting who is ready to contribute to a remarkable Canadian success story. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this role will be integral to a team responsible for comprehensive accounting processes, financial statement preparation, and analysis. The position involves collaboration with operations across North America and plays a vital role in supporting senior management and store managers on financial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of finance professionals overseeing general ledger accounting functions, ensuring timely and precise consolidated and subsidiary reporting.
  • Guide and nurture direct reports by offering constructive feedback on tasks, maintaining regular communication, fostering strong personal and professional relationships, and establishing clear goals and expectations.
  • Proactively manage the month-end closing process to guarantee timely and accurate completion of internal consolidated financial statements, including those from subsidiaries.
  • Oversee monthly balance sheet reporting and variance analysis to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements, including cumulative translation adjustment reconciliation.
  • Develop, maintain, and assess risk KPIs, demonstrating a thorough understanding of audit and accounting controls for compliance.
  • Provide IFRS interpretations and guidance to support the team in conducting appropriate analyses and documenting accounting decisions clearly and comprehensively for management and external auditors.
  • Stay informed about new accounting standards and regulations, ensuring compliance and proactively adjusting processes as necessary.
  • Monitor and uphold a robust internal controls environment in a rapidly growing organization to ensure prudent management of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, ensuring timely provision of support and information for quarterly reviews and annual financial audits.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with finance personnel, department managers, auditors, accounting consultants, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Assist with additional projects and process improvement initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, or a related business discipline, with a CPA/CA designation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS).
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in financial reporting within a high-growth, public company with international operations, or experience from an accounting firm.
  • Proven track record as a business partner and trusted advisor to the leadership team.
  • Exceptional communication skills and strong analytical abilities.
  • Capability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
