Position Overview

GENERAL FUNCTION

The Vice President of Securitization Strategy will collaborate closely with the Treasurer to optimize the capital structure of Momentum through comprehensive financial planning and analysis related to our debt facilities and securitization initiatives, aimed at supporting future growth objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Partner with the Treasurer and the broader organization to structure, analyze, model, and execute securitized funding solutions.
  2. Continuously assess opportunities to improve funding economics and efficiency, including enhancements to existing facilities and the development of alternative funding strategies to support both short-term and long-term growth.
  3. Facilitate the launch of new funding facilities and securitization programs, establishing effective processes and building necessary internal and external reporting tools to monitor performance.
  4. Prepare comprehensive collateral performance reports for lenders, rating agencies, and other stakeholders.
  5. Conduct cash flow modeling and data analysis, including statistical stratification of collateral, historical performance metrics, projections of future performance, and analysis of expected loss deviations.
  6. Develop expertise in unsecured collateral performance, facility structures, and related constraints.
  7. Oversee accurate borrowing base reporting and assist in managing draws and repayments of debt.
  8. Generate ad hoc analyses for lenders from extensive data sets, including vintage analysis and static pool evaluations.
  9. Collaborate with internal risk management and analytics teams to prepare necessary analyses for lenders and audit programs.
  10. Conduct compliance reviews to ensure adherence to existing agreements and constraints.
  11. Manage processes, prepare responses, and review Agreed Upon Procedure (AUP) engagements with auditors.
  12. Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks, control deficiencies, and documentation gaps.
  13. Review documentation for alignment with facility operations and participate in drafting sessions and amendments.
  14. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with lenders, legal counsel, and various internal and external stakeholders.
  15. Capture key terms, concentrations, covenants, and thresholds from credit agreements, translating them into precise internal reporting and forecasting.
  16. Manage foreign currency and interest rate risks through appropriate hedging activities.
  17. Implement procedural and policy updates to align with Corporate Risk and Audit guidelines.
  18. Develop and sustain relationships with key internal and external clients to ensure service level commitments are met.
  19. Ensure compliance with established internal controls to safeguard the company's financial assets.
Qualifications

EDUCATION

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, economics, accounting, or finance. An MBA, CFA, FRM, or CPA designation is advantageous.

EXPERIENCE

  1. A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in Treasury, Capital Markets, Securitization, or Finance.
  2. Candidates with at least 5 years of experience in Capital Markets, Financing, or Treasury, particularly with exposure to warehouse financing, securitization, or other asset-backed securities funding, are preferred.
  3. Familiarity with installment loans or unsecured retail credit is considered beneficial.

SKILLS

  1. Strong data analysis capabilities coupled with proactive problem-solving skills.
  2. Proficiency in preparing numerical data sets for lender review and responding to inquiries.
  3. Advanced analytical skills, including cash flow modeling (e.g., prepayments, defaults) and numerical presentation.
  4. Solid understanding of credit markets, financial accounting, and statistics.
  5. Experience in reviewing lending agreements and familiarity with securitization legal documents.
  6. Comfort with utilizing derivatives for hedging interest rate risks associated with funding programs.
  7. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VBA), coding (Python, SQL), and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
  8. Detail-oriented with strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  9. Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with relevant stakeholders and the broader team.
  10. Capability to establish credibility with diverse groups, including senior management.
  11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  12. Superior project management and organizational skills, adept at prioritizing and managing competing demands.
  13. Self-motivated with high personal standards for work quality.
