Job Summary:

This position is responsible for working effectively with team members in providing all aspects of care for children placed in the home, including provision for their physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children in a home-based setting.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the well-being and safety of children.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, families, and community partners.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans that meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of child care activities and progress.

Requirements:

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Produce current satisfactory background checks.
  • Valid class 5 Driver's license preferred.
  • Be physically capable of performing all child care duties.
  • Have current First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.
  • Ability to genuinely and supportively care for children/youth in crisis.
  • Ability to provide guidance and supervision to the children/youth in all daily activities.
  • Understanding of Indigenous history and its impact on children/families today.
  • Ability to establish strong, positive working relationships with co-workers.
  • Experience in completing written work such as reports, forms and logs.
  • Demonstrated ability to be punctual, organized, consistent and, to show initiative.
  • Experience in preparing nutritious meals and snacks.
  • Knowledge of the CFS system and standards related to the care of children.
