About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Officer to join our team at Davidson Contract Services. As a Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training and Development: Provide training to staff on safety procedures and protocols, ensuring they are equipped to perform their duties safely and effectively.
  • Employee Support: Respond to employee questions and concerns, providing guidance and support to resolve any safety-related issues.
  • Accident Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate and detailed reports of accidents and incidents, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Administrative Tasks: Compile, verify, record, and process various documents, including applications, licenses, permits, contracts, registrations, requisitions, and other forms.
  • Knowledge and Compliance: Maintain knowledge of highway trucking rules and regulations, ensuring our operations are compliant and up-to-date.
  • Computer and Technology: Utilize MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word to manage tasks, track data, and create reports.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of driver logbooks and other relevant documentation.
Requirements
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Work Setting: Trucking company environment.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, judgment, organization, and teamwork abilities.
  • Work Conditions: Ability to work independently, in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with attention to detail, and a large workload.
