Project Controls Director Opportunity

Aecon is seeking a seasoned Project Controls Director to join our Urban Transportation Solutions group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of dynamic transit projects in Canada.

About the Role:

  • Lead the development and implementation of project-specific Project Controls plans, documenting processes and procedures to be followed on the project.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with client counterparts and joint venture stakeholders (where applicable).
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and provide constructive feedback; implement performance improvement plans as needed with support from HR.
  • Develop a project-specific Risk Management Plan for incorporation into the Project Controls Plan.
  • Establish cadence for risk reviews and lead risk review meetings to identify, evaluate, and update risks that may have a cost and/or schedule impact.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 15+ years construction industry experience.
  • Proven experience and ability in planning, scheduling, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, estimating, and cost control.
  • Strong knowledge of the "Earned Value Management" principles.
  • Natural leader and team builder who can build strong relationships quickly.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead project controls staff.
  • Proven strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly identify and articulate issues.
  • Proven problem solver with sound judgment who accepts ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
  • Detail-oriented and customer-focused.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of SAP and required project controls software which may include Primavera, Hard Dollar, Accubid.
