Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Donor Relations to join our Donor Relations team at Focus on the Family Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the stewardship and growth of our donor programs, excluding major gifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective donor communication strategies, including direct mail fundraising letters, donor newsletters, and donor recognition projects.
  • Work closely with internal teams to create and execute donor-related content, including online initiatives and events.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Constituent Response to develop and implement training and education programs for the team.
  • Manage and analyze data to inform donor relations strategies and make data-driven decisions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with donors, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education or professional training in non-profit management, fundraising, communication, marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a related position, with a focus on donor relations, fundraising, direct mail, marketing, project management, business communications, or similar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for various audiences.
  • Proven experience in managing multi-channel organizational plans and analyzing data to inform decision-making.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as proficiency in Windows and internet browsing applications.
  • Familiarity with CRM databases and/or SQL reporting services is an asset.
