Psychiatrist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our interdisciplinary team at the Homewood Health Centre in Guelph, Ontario. As a key member of our Women's Trauma and Concurrent Program, you will play a critical role in providing intensive treatment to women with complex trauma.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide clinical care to assigned patients, including admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and discharge.
- Collaborate with other physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management and referral to specialized services as needed.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in trauma-informed care and psychiatric treatment.
- Specialist certification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent body.
- Experience with diagnosis and management of complex psychiatric disorders and comorbid mental health and substance use disorders.
- Strong ability to negotiate and influence, with proven critical thinking, analysis, and complex problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and the principles of trauma-informed care.
