Job Overview

The Finance Operations Manager will play a crucial role within Brookfield's Corporate division, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Finance. This position is situated in a prominent office environment and offers significant opportunities for professional growth within a leading global asset management organization. The Finance Operations Manager will take charge of overseeing financial reporting and analytical processes for corporate functions, collaborating with various internal teams to pinpoint and execute essential enhancement initiatives. Additionally, this role provides the chance to lead and mentor a developing team of senior accountants and interns.

Key Responsibilities:

The main duties associated with this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the consolidation and summary of financial results for corporate entities on a quarterly and annual basis, ensuring compliance with internal management reporting and regulatory standards.
  • Direct the execution of intricate technical accounting procedures and address related issues, coordinating with other business units and departments.
  • Manage the monthly financial closing processes, identifying opportunities for practical improvements and efficiencies.
  • Review daily journal entries and period-end accruals to ensure accuracy.
  • Supervise the Finance team's responsibilities in shared service functions, including treasury and accounts payable.
  • Engage regularly with other Brookfield business groups, addressing finance-related inquiries and providing support.
  • Evaluate the work of junior team members, offering guidance and mentorship.
  • Continuously seek efficiencies in processes, tools, and reports, making recommendations for implementation.
  • Lead special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A minimum of four to six years of progressive experience in accounting or auditing.
  • A recognized professional accounting designation (CPA) is required.
  • Familiarity with public company reporting standards under IFRS.
  • Strong experience with financial systems, particularly advanced Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to team support.
  • Highly organized, capable of thriving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in managing workload and pursuing professional development.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, HFM, and/or Workiva is considered an asset.
