Position Overview

Role Responsibilities

The role of Manager, Commercial Portfolio Management focuses on overseeing a diverse client portfolio with average loan volumes exceeding $10MM. Key responsibilities include:

  • Credit Underwriting: As a proficient commercial credit underwriter, you will collaborate with sales teams to ensure timely and effective credit evaluations for both new and existing clients. You will manage risk and maintain client relationships within the Mid-Market sector.
  • Risk Management: Utilize your understanding of credit policies to implement risk mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with established protocols while balancing risk and reward in line with the bank's risk appetite.
  • Client Engagement: Regularly interact with clients to understand their needs and provide essential retention support, while facilitating connections with other business partners within the Canadian Western Bank network.
  • Leadership and Development: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages collaboration and personal growth. Actively mentor team members and promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in commerce, finance, or accounting (or equivalent experience) is required, along with approximately 6 years of relevant experience in risk management, banking, and business lending, particularly in commercial credit underwriting.
