Job Title: Business Development ProfessionalAbout the Role

We are seeking a skilled Business Development Professional to join our team in Grande Prairie. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering personalized advice to commercial and agriculture members, managing a portfolio of commercial loans and deposits, and driving sales, service, and growth of that portfolio.

You will work closely with potential and existing members, the retail branch network, local business owners, and members of the professional community to cultivate strong working relationships and expand our market reach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain effective sales and marketing efforts to maximize Small Business and Commercial Loan growth, deposit growth, and sales of peripheral products.
  • Proactively build relationships with existing and future members, including those in agriculture and commercial sectors.
  • Stay up-to-date on lending and deposit services, products, policies, and legislation to provide informed advice and support to members.
  • Maximize our existing portfolio by driving loan and deposit growth, and developing and submitting renewal applications.
  • Recommending rates within discretionary limits and approving loans within lending authority.
  • Evaluating requests on the basis of policy, risk, and profitability.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Professional with a strong background in lending and commercial banking. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive lending and commercial banking experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in all facets of credit granting and sales of business banking products over a three to seven year period.
  • Business banking experience, including business development, underwriting, compliance, and a basic knowledge of portfolio management.
  • Experience working and developing relationships with members, potential members, influential community people, and employees.
  • A university degree in a business discipline or sufficient experience in lieu of education.
