Job Title: Educational Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team at the Halton District School Board.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide support to students with diverse needs, working collaboratively with teachers and other educational staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including behavioral management and academic support
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and implementation, as needed
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a smooth and successful learning experience
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Behaviour management skills and experience working with students with diverse needs
  • BMS training or willingness to take the course
  • Working knowledge of Collaborative Problem Solving
  • High degree of professionalism and respect for students and families
  • Ability to move frequently between schools to support various student needs
Working Conditions:

This is a long-term occasional position, requiring a vehicle and driver's license for travel between schools.
