Aurora CP Software Development Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team at Amazon, working on the Aurora CP project. As a key member of our team, you will design and implement major database components to enable Amazon Aurora to scale and perform for growing customer demands.
Aurora CP is a distributed, fault-tolerant database service that leverages a self-healing storage system, performing up to five times faster than standard MySQL databases and three times faster than standard PostgreSQL databases.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Software Features and Improvements: Design and implement software solutions to enable new features or improve existing ones, working closely with customers, stakeholders, and peers to understand and deliver the right solutions.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with customers, stakeholders, and peers to understand and deliver the right solutions, contributing to the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, design, code, code reviews, testing, deployment, and maintenance of the team's software.
- Operational Work: Solve customer problems and enhance team operations, contributing to the design and implementation of major database components to enable Amazon Aurora to scale and perform for growing customer demands.
- Full Software Development Lifecycle: Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
We are looking for a highly skilled Software Development Engineer with:
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
We prefer candidates with:
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $114,800/year up to $191,800/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company, offering a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, in addition to a competitive salary and equity package.
