Chief Development Officer

Starkloff Disability Institute (SDI) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Development Officer to lead our fundraising efforts and drive growth. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive development strategy to achieve our fundraising goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a strategic plan to achieve fundraising goals, including major gifts, annual giving, corporate and foundation grants, planned giving, and special events.
- Oversee marketing, branding, public relations, advertising, and other communications initiatives to promote SDI's mission and programs.
- Work closely with the leadership team, Board of Directors, and Board committees to build and implement a successful development strategy.
- Direct grant-request process and build relationships with foundation officials.
- Ensure continuity of tone and message, shepherd and oversee branding process organization-wide, direct communications and marketing efforts related to organization programs.
- Direct fundraising database administration.
- Work with the CEO and Board of Directors to help develop the Board, facilitate the selection process, and keep the Board regularly informed about the meaningful work at the organization.
- First-hand experience in directing a development department responsible for raising at least $3 million annually.
- Ability to effectively scale development department operations to increase revenue.
- Ability to direct the implementation of marketing and communications plans.
- Ability to motivate a development and communications team and to enlist staff organization-wide in helping with development efforts.
- Ability to communicate well in speech and in writing.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 7-10 years of successful fundraising experience, preferably at social service organizations.
