Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our Laboratory department, you will be responsible for performing laboratory work and related duties in the field of Biochemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Accessioning, and Urinalysis.
Key Responsibilities- Under the direction of the Chief Medical Technologist, perform laboratory work and related duties in the field of Biochemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Accessioning, and Urinalysis.
- Work mainly in Accessioning, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of laboratory samples.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to maintain high-quality laboratory services and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Provide training and guidance to junior laboratory staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Must have successfully completed an approved CSMLS course in Medical Technology and be registered with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
- Minimum of three to four years' post-Registered Technologist experience as a Medical Technologist in all disciplines of the laboratory and two years recent Accessioning experience.
- Minimum of five years recent related experience in a laboratory with experience in supervision.
