Core Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Manager of Operational Resilience is tasked with enhancing risk management practices related to operational resilience, business continuity, crisis management, and their connections to change management and third-party risk management, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Drive the development and execution of the Operational Resilience roadmap, methodologies, standards, reporting, and operational procedures.
  • Organize and lead the annual schedule of Business Continuity Management (BCM) Program activities, including preparation for exercises and tests.
  • Oversee BCM-related activities such as business impact assessments, plan evaluations, reporting, and communication efforts.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Operational Resilience, collaborating with Procurement and other advisory SMEs on third-party risk assessments for significant partners.
  • Coordinate disaster recovery testing activities, including the review of test plans and results, along with supporting communications.
  • Participate in the review and update of operational risk policies, procedures, and tools.
  • Facilitate the use of risk identification tools, including new initiative risk assessments and Risk and Control Self-Assessments.
  • Analyze Key Risk Indicator (KRI) reporting to ensure accuracy and identify trends.
  • Provide oversight through assessments, ensuring that remediation and action plans are effectively addressed, monitored, and reported.
  • Conduct investigations and prepare reports for operational risk events or incidents.
  • Offer insights on emerging risks and significant events that could impact corporate objectives.
  • Design and deliver training programs for relevant employees to ensure understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Assist in developing operational risk training initiatives and enhancing program awareness.
  • Support oversight activities with business units to improve operational risk management.
  • Deliver regular and ad-hoc risk reporting and analytics to support senior management.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in operational resilience, business continuity, or crisis management.
  • 5-7 years of experience in operational risk or information technology risk oversight within a financial institution.
  • An undergraduate degree in finance, economics, business administration, or technology is advantageous.
  • Professional certifications such as CBCP or MBCI are preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management, compliance, and corporate governance.
  • Familiarity with risk and control frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with effective meeting facilitation and presentation abilities.
  • Good organizational, project, and time management skills to handle multiple projects with competing priorities; PMP certification is a plus.
  • Awareness of the financial industry, risk management practices, and regulatory changes.
