Medical Office Assistant

Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Ward Clerk to join our Patient Services team. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and staff.
Responsibilities:- Provide receptionist and clerical functions on the patient care units
- Interact and communicate with team members, physicians, patients, visitors, and volunteers
- Organize and maintain accurate patient records and files
- Perform various administrative tasks, including data entry and reporting
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent acceptable to the hospital
- Medical Office Assistant (1 year program certificate) or equivalent acceptable to the hospital
- Medical Terminology required
- Current Basic Life Support Certificate required
- Previous Ward Clerk experience considered an asset
- Previous experience with Cerner considered an asset
- Strong organizational and computer skills required
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal required
- Demonstrated ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
- Must be available to work evenings and statutory holidays
- Hours of work and shifts subject to change at the hospital's discretion based on operational needs
- Salary per the UNIFOR collective agreement ($27.43 per hour to $28.02 per hour)
