- Educate Residents and Families: Educate residents and their families about health conditions, treatments, and care plans, promoting informed decision-making and empowerment.
- Ensure Resident Safety and Comfort: Ensure residents' safety and comfort by identifying and mitigating potential risks, and providing a supportive and respectful environment.
- Document Resident Care: Accurately document residents' health status and care provided, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Respond to Emergencies: Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, providing immediate care and support as needed.
- Diploma in RPN Program: Hold a diploma from a recognized RPN program or equivalent.
- Registered Practical Nurse in Good Standing: Be registered as a Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Experience in Long-Term Care: Possess experience working in a long-term care or retirement home setting, with a strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges of this environment.
- Physical Abilities: Possess the physical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel, and reach, with the ability to lift 50lbs (23 kg) independently, and assist clients with standing, walking, and sitting.
- Valid First Aid and CPR: Hold valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certification.
- Updated Immunization Records: Maintain updated immunization records, including completion of a two-step tuberculosis test within the last 6 months.
- Vulnerable Sector Check: Have a clear Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last six months.
- Valid G2/G Driver's License: Possess a valid G2/G driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle, with a minimum of 100% vehicle ownership.
