As an Intermediate Network Operations Specialist within the IT Security Infrastructure and Asset Management team at Banque Nationale du Canada, you will play a crucial role in addressing network incidents and executing various operational requests. Your expertise in network incident resolution, along with your proficiency in platforms such as Cisco, F5, CheckPoint, and AWS, will significantly contribute to our organization’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a range of network incidents, from simple to complex
  • Process operational requests related to network management promptly
  • Monitor alerts from various network monitoring systems
  • Ensure the stability and proper utilization of network environments
  • Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) with accurate updates following changes
  • Assist in the remediation of security vulnerabilities
  • Implement firewall rules as approved by the security team

Team Dynamics:

You will be part of a diverse team of 15 professionals, reporting to the Manager of IT Telecommunications Management. Our team is recognized for its adaptability and collaborative spirit, working closely with other departments. We provide 24/7 support across the organization, aided by our international team.

We emphasize on-the-job training to help you excel in your role. Customized training modules are available on subjects such as Cisco, CheckPoint, AWS, and F5, encouraging continuous learning. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues who possess a wide array of expertise and experiences, enriching your professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Strong problem-solving skills in a Cisco environment
  • In-depth knowledge of network technologies and concepts (Switches, Routers, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, DNS, Proxy, QoS)
  • Familiarity with network analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, Zabbix)
  • Experience in the financial services industry is advantageous
  • Ability to navigate complex environments and understand intricate technological concepts
  • CCNA certification is a plus
  • ITIL certification is beneficial
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and results-driven
