Job Title: Network Operations Engineering Specialist

Contract Type: 1 year Contract

Key Qualifications:
  • Proficient in IP Routing Protocols: Expertise in BGP routing.
  • Understanding of Routing Protocols: Knowledge of the distinctions between IGP and BGP.
  • Configuration Skills: Ability to perform network configurations.
  • Scripting Knowledge: Familiarity with scripting languages.
  • Network Technologies: Understanding of spanning tree protocols.
  • OSPF Knowledge: Experience with OSPF version 2.


Job Overview:
- Responsible for the deployment and management of network infrastructure, focusing on new connectivity for data centers, branches, and campus expansions.
- Capable of activating new sites or Points of Distribution (PODs) and integrating them with existing systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to routing protocols within a spine/leaf architecture, including VxLAN and VRF configurations.
- Serve as the escalation point for production outages and operational challenges arising from daily activities or project-related tasks.
- Possess a strong understanding of data networking principles, with hands-on experience using routers and switches.
- Collaborate with hardware vendors, including Cisco and Arista, to ensure optimal network performance.
- Proficient in routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF, with a solid grasp of underlay and overlay network concepts.
- Ability to analyze packet captures is advantageous, demonstrating expertise in managing and supporting high-speed networks.

Expertise Required:
- Advanced skills in decoding packet captures and diagnosing network and application issues using tools like Wireshark.

Hardware Proficiency:
- Experience with Cisco Switches and Routers, Juniper Routers, and Arista Switches.
Ethernet Technologies: Knowledge of spanning tree, VLANs, trunking, channeling, and multilayer switching.
WAN Technologies: Familiarity with MPLS and VPN.
IP Routing Protocols: Proficient in OSPF, BGP, and RIP.
Multicast Routing: Understanding of PIM, IGMP, and MSDP.
- Experience with Visio, PowerPoint, Unix, and scripting is essential. Proficiency in creating and utilizing Splunk dashboards is a significant advantage.
