Location: Toronto, ON, Canada

As part of our commitment to expanding our services, this role focuses on fostering new broker and client partnerships, as well as marketing and underwriting our Middle Market insurance products. Your contributions will be vital in driving the growth of this dynamic segment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the development and promotion of innovative insurance products across various lines including General Liability, Property, Automobile, Umbrella, and Environmental coverage.
  2. Underwrite both new and renewal policies, ensuring alignment with profitability and rate objectives while collaborating with actuarial and claims teams to achieve favorable outcomes.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, addressing their marketing and educational needs with the support of our Middle Market division.
  4. Engage directly with clients, brokers, and producers to provide exceptional service and support.
  5. Collaborate effectively within a team environment, offering assistance to fellow underwriters and management.
  6. Uphold high service standards and ensure compliance with internal audit requirements.
  7. Represent the company at various industry events and functions, strengthening our presence in the market.
  8. Set annual objectives with brokers, provide regular updates, and monitor financial performance against established plans.
  9. Proactively engage with brokers and clients to cultivate relationships, deliver educational resources, and support business growth initiatives.

Qualifications:

  1. In-depth understanding of the Canadian insurance landscape, coupled with comprehensive knowledge of insurance products.
  2. Significant experience in Middle Market insurance, including underwriting, claims, or business development.
  3. Ability to distinguish our offerings in the marketplace through innovative approaches and exceptional service.
  4. Proven track record of establishing and nurturing relationships with insureds and brokers.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on customer service excellence.
  6. A collaborative mindset, contributing creative solutions and ideas for effective problem-solving.
