Job Title: Keyworker/Addictions Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Keyworker/Addictions Worker to join our team at the Behavioural Health Foundation. As a Keyworker/Addictions Worker, you will provide individual support to clients struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health issues through direct supervision and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide individual and group counseling to clients, making referrals to clinical therapists as needed.
  2. Supervise clients in residential substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders treatment services, maintaining accurate records and files.
  3. Coordinate and facilitate educational workshops on mental health and substance use-related topics, promoting holistic well-being.
  4. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of crisis management and the impact of trauma on mental health and substance use issues.
  5. Participate in staff meetings and case discussions, contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum Grade 12 diploma/degree in community support work, addictions, and community service, or relevant post-secondary education.
  2. Experience working in a residential treatment setting is an asset.
  3. Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous history, culture, practices, customs, and beliefs.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and supportive counseling skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  5. Experience working with at-risk and/or vulnerable populations, with a strong commitment to dignity and respect.
  6. Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and satisfactory driver's abstract.
  7. Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector check and child abuse registry check.
  8. Mental Health First Aid Certificate and valid First Aid/CPR Certification are considered assets.
