Social Work Professional Practice Advisor

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and articulation of a comprehensive vision for inter-professional collaborative practice that prioritizes high-quality, family-centered care. Foster robust inter-professional collaboration through the establishment of effective structures and processes that enhance patient outcomes. Implement and exemplify successful change management strategies to facilitate systemic transformation. Align professional practice priorities with organizational and provincial strategic objectives, ensuring effective deployment of organizational strategies. Monitor, assess, and report on progress related to key performance indicators. Collaborate with discipline leaders to ensure adherence to professional standards, regulations, practice guidelines, and ethical codes across all assigned professions. Provide critical input and decision-making support for the design and implementation of clinical information systems, particularly concerning scope. Engage in the development of policies and procedures, particularly those pertaining to clinical informatics, and participate in system change processes for the implementation and evaluation of information systems in practice environments. Contribute to the design of data collection tools that facilitate practice decision-making and record-keeping. Assess the impact of clinical information systems on the roles of the inter-professional team to enhance the use of informatics in clinical practice, encouraging professionals to gain proficiency in technology use. Provide leadership for diverse projects aimed at achieving operational goals and visions across the organization. Collaborate with various agencies and programs to plan and execute complex initiatives focused on enhancing inter-professional collaborative practice, integrating new technologies, and developing innovative care models to improve patient outcomes. Oversee regulatory and contractual policies and manage the work of contractors and project teams. Assist in the development of operating and capital budgets related to assigned projects.

Qualifications

A Master's Degree in a relevant field such as Nursing, Allied Health, or Health Sciences, along with five years of recent, relevant experience, including two years in a leadership role. Current registration with the relevant professional regulatory body. Informatics training or certification is advantageous.

Skills & Knowledge

Proven expertise in facilitating inter-professional practice. Up-to-date knowledge of practice controls, regulatory bodies, and the Health Professions and Occupations Act. Understanding of various healthcare disciplines and their roles in patient care. In-depth knowledge of the organization's mission, vision, values, strategic directions, and goals. Familiarity with research processes and methodologies. Strong project planning and management capabilities. Ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize tasks, adapting to new or unexpected situations. Proven ability to lead and collaborate as part of an inter-professional team, functioning effectively as a leader, mentor, and facilitator. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and other healthcare professionals. Capacity to work independently and demonstrate agility in complex and evolving environments. Proficiency in working with emerging technologies, including their development, implementation, and evaluation. Commitment to continuous learning and supporting the development of others. Physical capability to fulfill the duties of the position. Dedication to fostering meaningful reconciliation in Canada, in alignment with relevant legislative commitments. As a valuable asset, familiarity with the social, economic, political, and historical contexts of settler colonialism affecting Indigenous Peoples, along with experience in addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism and cultural safety.
