We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Practice Advisor to join our team at Engineers and Geoscientists BC. As a key member of our Professional Standards and Development Department, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of professional practice guidelines, providing expert advice on professional and ethical practice, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Expert Advice and Guidance: Offer professional practice and ethics guidance to various parties, including professionals, advisory groups, firms, regulators, and internal/external stakeholders.
- Support Practice Guidelines Development: Assist in the creation and maintenance of practice guidelines and advisories.
- Database Management: Maintain, analyze, and update a database of professional practice advice.
- Advisory Group Support: Participate in advisory group meetings and provide support as requested.
- Capacity Building: Assist in building capacity to support the day-to-day practice of BC's professional engineers and geoscientists.
- Contract Management: Assist in managing contracts and associated budgets for the production of guidelines.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Geoscience.
- Registration: Registered or in the process of achieving an Engineer-in-Training or Geoscientist-in-Training status (EIT/GIT).
- Experience: 1-2 years of related experience to the responsibilities outlined.
- Competitive Compensation: A salary of $67,000-$75,000 annually (pro-rated based on the length of contract).
- Benefits: 8% additional pay in lieu of benefits, 10 vacation days per annum (pro-rated based on the length of contract), and a flex day program offering additional paid days off.
- Hybrid Work Model: A hybrid work model with an assigned schedule confirming days worked remotely and days worked in-office.
Engineers and Geoscientists BC is a not-for-profit organization governed by a board of elected registrants and government appointees. We regulate and govern the professions of engineering and geoscience under the authority of the Professional Governance Act. Our mission is to protect the public interest by setting and maintaining high academic, experience, and professional practice standards for over 40,000 registrants.
