Role Overview

As a Social Work Professional Practice Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a vision for inter-professional collaborative practice that prioritizes exceptional, family-centered care. Your leadership will be essential in enhancing inter-professional collaboration through the establishment of effective structures and processes aimed at achieving optimal patient outcomes. You will employ and exemplify effective change management strategies to facilitate systemic transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the deployment of organizational strategies, ensuring alignment of professional practice priorities with overarching strategic goals.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on progress concerning designated performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with discipline leaders to ensure adherence to professional standards, regulations, and ethical guidelines across all assigned professions.
  • Engage in the development of policies and procedures, particularly those pertaining to clinical informatics, and participate in system change processes for the implementation and evaluation of information systems.
  • Lead a variety of projects aimed at achieving operational goals, working closely with PHSA agencies to plan and execute initiatives that enhance inter-professional collaborative practice and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • A Master's Degree in a relevant field such as Nursing, Allied Health, or Health Sciences, accompanied by five years of related experience, including two years in a leadership capacity.
  • Current registration with the relevant professional regulatory body.
  • Informatics training or certification is considered an asset.

Skills & Expertise

  • Proven knowledge in facilitating inter-professional practice.
  • Familiarity with regulatory controls and the Health Professions and Occupations Act.
  • Understanding of various healthcare disciplines and their contributions to patient care.
  • In-depth knowledge of PHSA's mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives.
  • Competence in research methodologies and processes.
  • Strong project planning and management capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and organize work, adapting to changing circumstances.
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaborative skills within an inter-professional team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fostering effective collaboration with colleagues and healthcare professionals.
  • Capacity to work independently and navigate complex, evolving environments.
  • Proficiency in utilizing emerging technologies for development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and supporting the development of others.
  • Physical capability to fulfill the duties of the position.
  • Dedication to fostering reconciliation in Canada, in line with TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
  • Knowledge of the socio-economic and historical contexts affecting Indigenous Peoples, along with familiarity with anti-racism and Indigenous Cultural Safety initiatives.
