Job Title: Market Lead, Private Investment Counsel

Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled Market Lead, Private Investment Counsel to join our team in Toronto, Canada.

Job Summary:

The Market Lead, Private Investment Counsel will be responsible for leading a team of investment professionals in the Central Ontario Region market, overseeing the achievement of defined revenue production goals. This is a producing role that requires the Market Lead to identify, manage, retain, and deepen high net worth/ultra-high net worth prospects in specific markets, while coaching their team to do the same.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement client acquisition strategies to generate sustainable and profitable growth.
  • Manage a book of business, gaining an intimate understanding of clients' life goals, circumstances, and needs to provide integrated life-based wealth advice and solutions.
  • Coach, mentor, and manage the performance of Portfolio Managers, Wealth Managers, Associate Portfolio Managers, and Wealth Associates to deliver high-quality wealth management services and solutions to clients.
  • Lead by example as a key member of the leadership team, building effective working relationships across the team and with various business lines and corporate functions.
  • Carry out the risk management/compliance strategy in the Scotia Wealth Management Office, maintaining client portfolios in accordance with established firm strategy and ensuring the suitability of wealth strategy and investment recommendations.
Requirements:
  • University Degree (Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance)
  • Minimum 5 years direct experience in discretionary investment management, covering both financial analysis and managing portfolios.
  • CSC
  • Willingness to work towards completion of CIM within 18 months and achievement of registrant status with provincial securities commission.
