Junior Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Estimator to join our team at Design Stainless Steel Ltd. As a Junior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, preparing pre-qualification submissions, and reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Estimate Preparation: Prepare detailed estimates of labour and/or material costs for various projects, taking into account factors such as material costs, labour costs, and overheads.
- Pre-qualification Submissions: Prepare and submit pre-qualification submissions to present to clients, highlighting our company's capabilities and expertise.
- Blueprint and Specification Analysis: Read and analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements, ensuring that all necessary information is captured.
- Computer Software Operations: Operate CADD and other computer software systems to prepare estimates and manage project data.
- Estimate Reporting: Prepare and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms to stakeholders, ensuring that all necessary information is included.
- Quantity Take-off Procedures: Utilize quantity take-off procedures to ensure accurate estimates and minimize errors.
- Tendering Procedures: Advise on tendering procedures, ensuring that our company's interests are represented.
- Cost Monitoring and Reporting: Set up and monitor cost monitoring and reporting systems to ensure that project expenditures are within budget.
- Contract Expenditure Management: Monitor and adjust contract expenditures to ensure that projects are completed within budget.
- Supply and Contractor Directory: Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors, ensuring that all necessary information is up-to-date.
- Communication and Liaison: Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Education: A certificate or diploma in a relevant field, such as construction management or estimating.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field, such as estimating or construction management.
- Language: Fluency in English is required.
- Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
