About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Estimator to join our team at Canadian Tire Corporation. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and reliable cost estimates for our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement corporate estimating policies and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in cost estimation.
  • Generate and analyze cost data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Prepare and present cost estimates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to ensure accurate cost estimation and project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to gather data and information for cost estimation.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to reduce construction costs.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior estimators and construction staff.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in cost estimation and construction management.
Requirements
  • University degree in a related field, such as construction management, engineering, or architecture.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction cost estimation and management.
  • Proven track record of delivering accurate and reliable cost estimates.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with senior management, project managers, and construction teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and other construction management software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
