About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Estimator to join our team at Design Stainless Steel Ltd. As a Junior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, preparing pre-qualification submissions, and reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs, including general expenses and overheads, and project cash flow and financing requirements.
  • Pre-qualification Submissions: Prepare and submit pre-qualification submissions to present to clients.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
  • Computer Software: Operate CADD and other computer software systems.
  • Estimate Reports: Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bids forms.
  • Quantity Take-off: Utilize quantity take-off procedures.
  • Tendering Procedures: Advise on tendering procedures.
  • Cost Monitoring: Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems.
  • Contract Expenditures: Monitor and adjust contract expenditures.
  • Supply Directory: Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors.
  • Liaison: Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Security and Safety
  • Criminal Record Check: A criminal record check will be required.
  • Work Term: This is a permanent position.
  • Work Language: English is the primary language of communication.
  • Hours: The working hours are 40 hours per week.
