Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced and licensed Class 1 Blaster to lead our drilling and blasting operations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction and a proven track record of safely and efficiently conducting blasting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site assessments and develop drilling and blasting plans to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Operate and maintain drilling and blasting equipment, including bulk explosives trucks and blasting machines
  • Supervise and train other team members on drilling and blasting procedures and safety protocols
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth project execution

Requirements:

  • Provincial blasting license Class 1 or Class 2 or trade certification
  • 5-7 years' experience in drilling and/or blasting
  • Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing project requirements
