As a Youth Engagement Coordinator with Nova Scotia Health Authority, you will play a key role in facilitating and supporting youth engagement in health promoting schools and communities. You will work closely with Health Promoting Schools (HPS) partnerships, Regional Centers for Education, and community partners to develop and implement school and community-based action plans that promote youth wellbeing.

You will be a member of the Public Health Healthy Communities team, applying Public Health frameworks and standards to support schools and communities in strengthening their skills, abilities, and resources to promote children and youth as change agents.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, building partnerships and collaborating with stakeholders to improve health outcomes for youth.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in youth engagement, health promotion, and community development. The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Education, or a related field, and a minimum of two years of related job experience.

Key qualifications include experience in working with youth, developing and implementing youth engagement strategies, and planning, development, and evaluation of health promotion policies and programs.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of population health, health promoting schools approaches, and health equity, as well as excellent communication and partnership-building skills.

This is a permanent full-time position, working 70 hours bi-weekly.

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $44.10 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.
