**May receive direction from or be required to Report to: Director of Operations, Executive Director, Office Manager or Director of Service delivery**
**THE OPPORTUNITY**
HomeBridge Youth Society is a not-for-profit organization that serves vulnerable youth between the ages of 12-18. HomeBridge is comprised of 6 youth care facilities that can accommodate as many as 40 youth at any given time. There are approximately 130 employees working to support the youth through various programs such as an on-site school (BFL), Expressions Program of the Arts, as well as daily program and life skills opportunities.

Reporting to the Human Resource Manager and Director of Finance, the HR/Accounting Administrator will work alongside both managers, in their respective departments, to assist and support each person with a variety of tasks and responsibilities. The incumbent will be able to work independently or in a small group setting. A focus on commitment to ethical behaviour and promoting professional interactions with colleagues, community partners and all stakeholders is essential.
**Minimum Qualifications**:
- Successfully completed a two year Business diploma with a concentration in Accounting or Human Resources, or a Bachelor's degree in Commerce. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be acceptable.
- Minimum 1-year work experience or co-op experience working in a business setting focusing on Accounting duties or Human Resource duties.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
- Experience with Sage 50 accounting and Payworks payroll software is an asset.
- Experience in working in a not-for profit setting is preferable.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, code of conduct, confidentiality etc.
- Demonstrate an active loyalty to HomeBridge, its facilities and programs including the youth, colleagues and other staff

**Accounting/Finance Duties**
**Monthly Accounting Cycle Tasks**:
- Preparing monthly invoices to Department of Community Services agencies
- Reviewing and recording facility monthly petty cash reconciliations
- Preparing monthly bank reconciliations
- Recording/Posting accounts payable bills
- Working with Director of Finance to prepare cheques and pay online bills
- Completing other month end duties as required
**Payroll**:
- Assisting with bi-weekly payroll processing (Payworks), and training to be payroll back up for Director of Finance
- Preparing reports post payroll
- Completing other payroll financial tracking as directed
**Ongoing tasks**:
- Filing as needed
- Assisting with year-end audit preparation
- Researching any new/ongoing projects as required
- Assisting with Records Management tasks
- Providing admin support to office operations if needed
- Attending and participating in meetings as required
**Human Resource Duties**
**Training**:
- Assisting with creating training schedules and communications
- Entering training data in online information system (Payworks)
- Assisting with evolution of data storage information system (Payworks)
- Monitoring and registering employees in online training
**Hiring**:
- Assisting with maintenance of employee seniority lists, vacancy lists, transfer requests, LOA and accommodation lists
- Preparing offer letters to new and current employees
- Pre-screening applicants
- Assisting with orientation process
- Conducting reference checks for applicants
- Assisting with recruitment presentations to schools and community organizations
- Conducting exit interviews or surveys
- Assisting with completing hiring packages with new employees
**OHS**:
- Assisting with JOHSC tasks as assigned
- Updating EMO binder and letters annually
- Updating Fire safety plans and evacuation records
- Coordinating evacuation exercises with local fire department officials
**Ongoing tasks**
