The Opportunity: Senior Backend Data Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Backend Data Developer to join our dynamic team in Canada. This fully remote position offers the flexibility of working from anywhere while collaborating with a talented group of professionals.

As a key member of our development team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend systems that power our data-driven applications. Your expertise in Java, AWS cloud technologies, and data warehousing solutions will be instrumental in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of our software.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with project teams to contribute your technical expertise throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Champion code quality and adherence to established coding standards and best practices.
  • Guide engineers in implementing design patterns and architectural principles that align with project requirements.
  • Contribute to the planning, estimation, architecture, coding, and testing of software solutions.
  • Continuously refactor and improve existing codebases to enhance efficiency and maintainability.
  • Effectively communicate technical decisions and information to global team members.
  • Take ownership of releases and actively participate in the ongoing support of live applications.
  • Embrace DevOps principles by contributing to the deployment and operation of our software infrastructure.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Backend Developer with a strong focus on data management and integration.
  • Deep understanding of Java programming language and object-oriented design principles.
  • Expertise in AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, and RDS.
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational database technologies.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Redshift).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
