About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Java Engineer to join our team at Aequilibrium Software Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for integrating and extending the Backbase digital banking platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-quality, scalable, and maintainable Java-based solutions for our clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and developers, to deliver compelling products and services.
  • Develop and maintain complex software systems, ensuring they meet the required standards and are secure.
  • Work closely with our clients to understand their business requirements and transform them into technical architecture.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the industry, applying Agile values and principles to drive success.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 7+ years of production-level experience in Java.
  • Strong understanding of SOAP and RESTful Web Services, XML, JSON, and RAML.
  • Experience with microservices architecture, unit testing using JUnit, and application servers like Tomcat, WebSphere, Weblogic, or JBoss.
  • Proficiency in Git, Subversion, and other source control technologies.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Integration Patterns and frameworks like Apache Camel.
  • Experience developing large-scale distributed systems, SaaS platforms, and Service-Oriented Architectures.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes.
  • Good knowledge of SQL and experience working with sensitive data.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with credit unions or banks and integrating/tailoring digital banking platforms.
  • Knowledge of Agile Methodology, Scrum, and Kanban.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI).
  • Web Application Security (OWASP) and best practices for writing secure code.
  • Persistence frameworks like Hibernate.
  • Experience with databases such as MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, or NoSQL.
