The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building scalable and highly available platforms, with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Platform Development: Design and build scalable and highly available platforms to process millions of customer workflows a day and maintain them to run across all our regions and data centers.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers and Designers to establish product requirements, define scope, and assess business impact.
  • System Design: Contribute to the design and construction of systems that prioritize performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Infrastructure Knowledge: Understand the intricate workings of our infrastructure and how all components interact.
  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside fellow engineers to deliver sophisticated backend features outlined in the roadmap.
  • Problem-Solving: Challenge the status quo and find innovative solutions to complex problems.
Requirements
  • Strong Technical Skills: Proficient with TypeScript or other popular programming languages, with a strong understanding of software development principles.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in creating and maintaining a production environment, with a focus on scalability and reliability.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Soft Skills: Strong sense of ownership and accountability, excellent communication skills, and a team player mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Passion for Productivity: Passionate about productivity platforms and saving people time by making the world more productive.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in TypeScript, with experience in building high-scale systems and workflows.
  • Cloud Experience: Familiarity with running a platform on top of AWS, with experience in using Redis, Kafka, and Docker.
