About the Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Support Specialist for our esteemed client. Headquartered in Kanata, this software company has multiple offices worldwide to serve their global client base. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this individual will provide technical support, troubleshoot, and resolve customer issues in a mission-critical environment. Experience in both Windows and Linux environments is preferred, as well as virtualization experience. This team maintains system and networking configurations, analyzes customer systems and software upgrades, and tackles tier 2-3 engineering issues.

This is a permanent position with one of the region's top employers. Although this company is known for their socially-relevant product/technology and progressive culture/work-life balance, they also offer a comprehensive perks package in addition to salary. As this company employs a hybrid model (two days/week in-office), only candidates local to the region will be considered. In addition, eligibility for Canadian Top-Secret Clearance is required.

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • A B.S degree, diploma or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field.
  • 3+ years of technical support (tier 2 or higher) in a Windows Server environment as well as experience supporting LAN/WAN networks, VPN's, etc.
  • Extensive experience with VMware deploying virtual systems.
  • Solid experience providing exposure to networking components.
  • Asset: Experience with technologies such as Puppet, Solr, Cassandra, cloud infrastructure, networking/switching, and various scripting languages.
  • A team-first mentality as well as the ability to work autonomously. Moreover, the ability to liaise with customers effectively is essential for this role.
