Job Overview:

The Financial Planning and Analysis Coordinator is accountable for the organization, integration, and formulation of financial data and associated evaluations to project financial outcomes and create program budgets that optimize financial resources. This role includes providing training and support to colleagues regarding departmental financial protocols and procedures, as well as offering supervisory guidance to team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate financial data to assist in the formulation and execution of both short-term and long-term financial strategies. Create comprehensive multi-year budgets for assessment and endorsement. Forecast revenues and compile detailed calculations of anticipated compensation expenses and other costs. Adjust budget appropriations as necessary following the ratification of the initial budget. Prepare working documentation and consolidate data in line with financial audit standards. Estimate time, resources, and financial plans for various program initiatives and events. Organize and coordinate timelines and budgetary processes for budget evaluations across departments. Collaborate with departments to assess resource strategies in order to generate financial forecasts. Manage and schedule the flow of data and financial information essential for the preparation and creation of detailed financial statements. Review, analyze, and reconcile comprehensive financial reports and records. Oversee and investigate error and exception reports. Examine business processes to ensure efficiency and appropriate controls for precise financial reporting and asset protection. Recommend enhancements to improve processes. Serve as a resource for staff, departments, and external entities, addressing inquiries and concerns related to financial matters. Provide guidance on restructuring accounts for effective management oversight and streamlined reporting. Coordinate the gathering, validation, analysis, and reporting of financial information. Interpret and convey relevant financial policies, procedures, and guidelines to others. Assist with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. Develop and conduct training and informational sessions. Analyze data for reasonableness and accuracy. Formulate budgets for review and endorsement. Implement and sustain budgets, creating financial forecasts and adjusting budgets throughout the fiscal period. Exercise appropriate controls, monitor, and reconcile financial accounts. Draft various documents and reports, including procedure manuals, accounting reports, and financial statements. Conduct various analyses and reconciliations of accounts. Generate reports and account statements, ensuring accuracy. Provide training and support to others on relevant accounting practices and the utilization of financial systems. Calculate, prepare, and issue invoices, checks, account statements, and other financial documents according to established protocols. Manage, verify, process, and prepare various documents such as purchase orders, invoices, and payment requests. Process, verify, and balance financial records and transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Investigate discrepancies following established procedures. Monitor and reconcile statements and participate in account reconciliations. Prepare and generate a variety of scheduled and ad hoc reports. Update, maintain, and verify information in various spreadsheets and databases. Balance and control cash receipts, including floats, petty cash, and checks. Apply standard mathematical skills to perform a variety of calculations. Create spreadsheets with complex formulas and calculations. Address complex inquiries via various communication methods that require specialized knowledge of policies and procedures. Maintain organized filing systems, both electronic and physical.

Supervision:

Provide lead supervision and is accountable for the quality and quantity of work produced by others.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Four (4) years of relevant professional experience.
