Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Assistant Manager to join our team at Thrifty Foods. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for assisting in the management of daily operations, providing outstanding customer service, and coaching staff to deliver superior cuts of meat.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the daily operations of the meat department, including inventory management, stock ordering, and visual merchandising.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coach and train staff to provide superior cuts of meat, ensuring that customers receive the highest level of service and quality products.
  • Work closely with the Meat Department Manager to develop and implement sales strategies, promotions, and visual merchandising plans.
  • Monitor and maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a meat retail environment, preferably in a management or supervisory role.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and staff at all levels.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Post-secondary certification in a related field, such as food science or business administration, is an asset.
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
