Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Assistant Manager to join our team at Thrifty Foods. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for assisting in the management of daily operations, providing outstanding customer service, and coaching staff to deliver superior cuts of meat.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the daily operations of the meat department, including inventory management, ordering, and stock control.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coach and train staff to provide superior cuts of meat, ensuring that customers receive the highest level of service and quality products.
  • Work closely with the Meat Department Manager to develop and implement strategies to improve sales, customer satisfaction, and staff performance.
  • Assist with training and development of new staff members, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a meat retail environment, preferably in a management or supervisory role.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Post-secondary certification in a related field, such as food science or business administration, is an asset.
