We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Renal Associate Physician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a licensed physician, you will provide clinical care under the supervision of a fully licensed physician and be an integral part of our Renal Program.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient and outpatient care to individuals with end-stage kidney disease receiving kidney replacement therapy at the Dartmouth General Hospital.
- Liaise with nurses, attending staff, and other members of the healthcare team in the development and implementation of the overall patient care plan.
- Perform procedures within the scope of your demonstrated competence and privileges and according to established policies or protocols.
- Communicate with patients, families, referring, and family physicians concerning patient management plans.
- Organize and coordinate transfer of care to other services within central zone and across the province.
- Participate in resident/medical student training and evaluation.
- Attend and contribute to educational sessions and rounds as time permits.
We are looking for a candidate who meets the requirements to obtain a Clinical Assistant License from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia and has obtained (in writing) Review of Qualifications from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia prior to application deadline.
Requirements
- CMPA coverage required
- ACLS certification required
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Must be able to promote and maintain good interpersonal skills
- Completion of the equivalence of a rotating internship and postgraduate training and experience in Nephrology is an asset but not essential.
This is a permanent, full-time position with 96 hours bi-weekly.
Compensation and BenefitsThe successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of $65.81 per hour and may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
