Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Lead to join our team at the Royal Bank of Canada. As a Quality Assurance Lead, you will be responsible for leading the quality assurance efforts for a suite of business-critical applications, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of quality assurance strategies and plans to ensure that applications meet business requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, testing, and operations, to ensure that quality assurance efforts are integrated into the development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites using test automation tools, and execute test cases to ensure that applications meet quality standards.
  • Identify and prioritize quality assurance initiatives, and lead the implementation of process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain quality metrics and reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize business requirements, and ensure that quality assurance efforts align with business objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in quality assurance, and apply this knowledge to improve quality assurance processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in a quality assurance or equivalent technical role, with 2+ years of experience in a lead or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance processes, testing life cycle, SDLC, and defect management processes.
  • Experience with test automation tools, such as qTest, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Strong problem-solving, design, and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
  • Experience working with Unix/Linux environments, and knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps tools, such as Jenkins, GIT, Docker, UCD, and Helios.
  • Experience with a variety of test automation frameworks and tools, such as Robot Framework and others.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • QA-related certification, such as ISTQB or Agile testing.
  • Experience with iterative waterfall and Agile project methodologies.
  • Financial product knowledge.
  • PySpark and Spark SQL experience.
