Position Summary

The City of Kitchener is seeking a dedicated Community Centre Customer Support Specialist to assist in the daily operations of our Community Centres. This role is essential in fostering a welcoming environment for all visitors and ensuring the smooth functioning of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the safe and effective management of the Community Resource Centre.
  2. Deliver exceptional customer service across all interactions.
  3. Assist with general administrative tasks as directed by centre personnel.
  4. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility.
  5. Handle patron program registrations efficiently.
  6. Manage rental duties during assigned shifts.
  7. Execute additional related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  1. Completion of a minimum Grade 12 education.
  2. At least 6 months of relevant experience in customer service and administrative roles.
  3. Possession of a valid Emergency First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain it post-hire.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities.
  5. Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills for effective interaction with the public and colleagues.
  6. Proficient computer skills for handling registrations, cash transactions, and providing community information.
  7. Mathematical proficiency for reconciling funds collected during shifts.
  8. Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  9. Physical capability to perform tasks involving lifting and moving equipment.
  10. Experience with community programming and volunteer coordination is advantageous.
  11. Reliable transportation for travel to various locations is preferred.
  12. Multilingual abilities are considered an asset.
  13. Dependability and a positive attitude are essential.
