Job Title:

Assistant Director, Juris Doctor/Master of Business Administration Programs

Job Summary:

The Assistant Director, Juris Doctor/Master of Business Administration Programs will play a key role in the strategic planning and day-to-day operations of the JD/MBA program at York University. This includes fostering a strong community among students, alumni, industry partners, and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will develop and implement recruitment strategies, provide academic and career advice, and promote the JD/MBA program as a world-leading program through marketing and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent to the JD/MBA program
  • Provide academic and career advice to students, including guidance on the New York State recruitment and bar admissions process
  • Foster long-term relationships with graduates of the program and manage a comprehensive alumni engagement program
  • Support the Osgoode Career Development Office in providing career counseling to Osgoode students with a focus on Business Law
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the University and externally to promote the JD/MBA program
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
  • Juris Doctor (JD) and call to the bar
  • Extensive knowledge of the legal profession and professional considerations
  • Understanding of the JD/MBA program, including admission requirements and program specifics
  • Knowledge and understanding of business and law career opportunities and the business community
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in academic or professional settings
  • Knowledge of career development and counseling principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse groups
