Job Summary:

The Manitoba Métis Federation is seeking a skilled Community Navigator to provide support, advocacy, and community navigation for Métis Citizens in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and connect Métis Citizens with social, medical, economic, recreational, and educational services in the community.
  • Recognize potential crisis and emergency situations and develop strategies to address them.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to develop client program plans.
  • Maintain relationships with community agencies, professionals, government officials, and the community.
  • Assist Métis Citizens in overcoming barriers to accessing resources.
  • Assist in preparing project budgets and provide input to management on program development and evaluation.
  • Encourage and facilitate the participation of individuals in the program.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Social or Health Science, Social Work, Social Service, or a relevant field.
  • Experience in community outreach work, community support, advocacy, and community navigation.
  • Experience in program development and facilitation, reporting, and case management.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working for a not-for-profit organization and Indigenous community is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Métis culture, MMF programs, and services is a definite asset.
  • Ability to travel and possess a valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
