Job Title: Assistant Cook

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Cook to join our team at Ontario Limited. As an Assistant Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and providing exceptional dining experiences for our customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure they are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure they meet health and safety standards and are well-maintained.
  • Order supplies and equipment as needed to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.
  • Supervise kitchen operations to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Recruit and hire staff as needed to ensure adequate staffing levels.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing for extended periods and lifting heavy loads.
